Jerry Azzinaro
Defensive Line Coach/Assistant Head Coach

Biography

With over 30 years of coaching experience, Jerry Azzinaro was named the Eagles defensive line coach/assistant head coach during the 2013 offseason.

In 2013, the Eagles defense tied for third in the NFL in games holding their opponents to 21-or-fewer points. They also tied for third in the NFL with 31 takeaways. Led by Azzinaro, the Eagles young defensive line helped set the tone for the unit, as DE Fletcher Cox led the team with 21 quarterback pressures while DE Cedric Thornton ranked third on the squad with five tackles for a loss.

Azzinaro once again joins head coach Chip Kelly as he did at Oregon for the past four seasons (2009-12) as the program's defensive line coach. Azzinaro's energetic approach meshed perfectly with Kelly's high-octane style of play at Oregon, which utilized a rotation in order to keep players fresh on a fast-paced defense.
