Biography

Dave Fipp joined the Eagles as special teams coordinator during the 2013 offseason after spending the previous two seasons as the Miami Dolphins assistant special teams coach.

In 2013, the Eagles special teams featured the punting expoits of Donnie Jones, who set team records in net punting average (40.5), single-game net punting average (50.7) and punts inside the 20 (33). He became just the fourth punter in league history to earn NFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors in consecutive games in a single season.

During his two years in Miami, the Dolphins ranked 2nd (2011) and 4th (2012) in the NFL in overall special teams rankings, according to the data compiled by esteemed Dallas Morning News journalist Rick Gosselin. With the help of Fipp, long snapper John Denney earned his second Pro Bowl berth in 2012 while punter Brandon Fields led the NFL with a 50.2 gross punting average.
