The team's second round draft pick in 2006, Winston Justice has spent most of his first two seasons learning his trade behind Pro Bowl tackles Tra Thomas and Jon Runyan. Justice showed some promise in his sophomore campaign, playing in seven games and notching his first start. He won a national championship and blocked for three Heisman Trophy winners during his collegiate career at USC.

• Played nearly the entire game at RT vs. Buf. (12/30) after Jon Runyan was sidelined with an injury in the 1st qtr.
• Made his 1st career start at NYG (9/30) in place of an injured LT Tra Thomas
• Played in his 1st NFL game at GB (9/9)

BIRDSEED:

• Picked up surfing in the 2008 offseason while vacationing in Costa Rica. "I'd done it here and there growing up in California, but I really got into it in Costa Rica. Just the thrill of catching a wave, you can't describe it. I bought my own board and it's something I really want to take up."
• Considering himself a very spontaneous person, Winston signed up for a two-week mission to Uganda following the 2006 season. "These areas were so poor. They didn't have running water, electricity or any modern luxuries. We slept on the floor of their church and we ate what they ate. Mostly it was something they called mooshoo, some kind of corn meal mix we ate with our hands. If we were lucky, someone would catch a fish, but that wasn't very good either."
   He was amazed that everybody there knew at least a little English, so communicating was not very tough. Most days, he and his friends would simply play with the kids and he even taught them to play football.
  "They kept just wanting to kick the football I brought because they thought what I was teaching them was more like soccer. It would be great to go back there and teach them everything about football."

PERSONAL:

• Resides in Long Beach, CA, and Naples, FL, with his wife, Dania, and their son, Selah. Dania graduated from Pepperdine with a degree in broadcasting and currently manages a clothing store called Calypso in Naples, FL
• His parents, Gary and Winniefred, are natives of Barbados and also have a daughter, Heather, who is a homemaker and has three children. Gary is an engineer at Boeing, while Winniefred works for Mitsubishi
• Earned numerous All-America honors and countless other awards at national powerhouse, Long Beach Poly HS. Compiled a 39-1-1 record and won three CIF Division I titles. Started his final two seasons after not playing organized football until his sophomore year
• Majored in public policy and would someday like to pursue a career in real estate development
• Worked as an intern in 2004 with Pabst & Kinney, a real estate developing company in California

Favorite NFL offensive lineman: Tony Boselli, "He was a USC guy too. He was so aggressive and such a technician. Every offensive lineman that goes to SC wants to be him. He gave me one great piece of advice, 'Always set square and don't turn your shoulders.'"
What he enjoys about being an offensive lineman: "I love working hard and that's the reputation that O-linemen have. I also like the competition every single play."
Winston's words to live by: "Be who you are! For a while I was very selfish and then I decided it was time for me to change my attitude. Becoming a better person was important to me and service work has helped a lot. Everybody has the ability to help others inside of them."

COLLEGE HIGHLIGHTS:
Justice was the starting right tackle for the Trojans during their national championship season in 2003, protecting the blind side of left-handed QB Matt Leinart, a Heisman Trophy winner in 2004. In 2006, RB Reggie Bush was the benefactor of Justice's road grading as he captured college football's most hallowed trophy. In 2002, Justice was the starting right tackle as a true freshman on Heisman Trophy winner Carson Palmer's offensive line.
