One of the top playmaking defensive backs in college football, his 17 career interceptions were the most among all players in the 2008 draft class and rank 2nd in both Conference USA and school history. Became the first player in school and conference history to have two 100-yd. INT returns in both a season and a career (at Central Florida and at New Mexico State in 2007). Also holds the school record with 404 INT return yards, becoming only the 7th player in NCAA history to top the 400-yard mark in that category. His 24 career KDs are tied for 2nd on the school's all-time list. In 2007, earned third team All-America and All-Conference USA honors as he set school and league records by posting 220 return yds. on 5 INT (2 TDs). Also tallied 72 tackles, 2 FRs, and 9 KDs. Averaged 13.3 yds. on 15 punt returns and 22.4 yds. on 22 kickoff returns. As a junior in 2006, earned all-conference honors, registering 7 INTs, 67 tackles and 2 FFs. Also returned 9 kickoffs for a 23.9-yd. avg. (1 TD). In 2005, intercepted former Houston and current Eagles QB Kevin Kolb twice, including a game-sealing INT in overtime of a 44-41 victory. Earned freshman All-America honors and WAC Co-Freshman of the Year accolades in 2004 with 2 INTs (1 TD), 1 blocked kick and 1 FR which he returned for a TD. Redshirted in 2003. Demps signed a 4-year deal with the Eagles on 5/30/08.
