A free agent signing of the Eagles in 2007, Montae Reagor (pronounced MON-tay RAY-gurr) was the team's recipient of the Ed Block Courage Award last season. A veteran of 9 NFL seasons, Reagor returned to the field after missing most of 2006 with head and facial injuries suffered in a car accident prior to a game on October 22nd, while with Indianapolis. Originally a second round draft choice of the Broncos in 1999, Reagor has shown a knack for rushing the passer during his career, as he ranked fifth in the NFL among defensive tackles from 2004-05 with 10.5 sacks.
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
- Ranked 5th among NFL DTs with 10.5 sacks and 3rd with 15 QB pressures from 2004-05
2007 HIGHLIGHTS:
- Was the team's 2007 recipient of the Ed Block Courage Award, which honors the NFL players that exemplify commitment to the principles of sportsmanship and courage. They are selected in a vote by their teammates for team effort as well as individual performance
- Registered a sack of Brett Favre at GB (9/9) in his first game since being injured in an automobile accident in October of 2006
2005 HIGHLIGHTS:
- Recorded a career-high in sacks (5.5)
- Recovered a fumble and returned it 37 yds. for his 1st career TD at Hou. (10/23/05)

BIRDSEED:
- Is part-owner of a Texas-based mortgage and construction company, Reagor, Bush & Associates. "It's something I've always had a passion for. The thrill of remodeling a house and the various other things that we do, I just love it."
- Has aspirations of one day being the mayor of his hometown of Waxahachie, TX. "I am really interested in politics and want to get involved because it affects our daily lives."
- After a severe automobile accident forced him to be placed on the Non-Football Injury list for Indianapolis in 2006, Reagor aided the Colts coaching staff by breaking down film of their playoff opponents during their Super Bowl run. He now wants to get involved in coaching when his playing days are over. "All throughout my career, my coaches have taught me how to be a man and taught me to be who I am today. I want to do the same thing for other people when I'm done playing."
- Says the most important thing he learned after being involved in a car accident is that "life is wonderful. It made me appreciate every day, every minute, every second I have on this earth because it can be taken from you at any moment. You need to appreciate life and live it to the fullest."
- Holds an annual "Montae Reagor Community Day" in his hometown of Waxahachie, TX, in which 3,500-5,000 people gather at the civic center for a chance to meet him and participate in games and raffles. "It's a really fun day where people from my hometown get a chance to get to know me on a more personal level, and where I can interact with a lot of the people I grew up with, like coaches and teachers."
PERSONAL:
- Resides in Philadelphia during the season and Waxahachie, TX, in the offseason
- Was raised by his mom, Laveeda Bell. "She is my heart. When she's happy, I'm happy. I feel what she feels."
- Has a younger sister, Victoria, who is a senior at Waxahachie HS. She is a singer and has plans to try out for "American Idol"
- Had a very close relationship with his family growing up, especially his mom and grandmom. "They taught me I can go as far as I want to go. In this life, you create your own path."
- Earned all-state, all-metro and district-MVP honors as a senior at Waxahachie HS, recording 92 tackles, 14 sacks and 2 INTs. Also played TE as a junior, posting 22 recepts. for 351 yds. and 7 TDs
- Played on the same high school team as Kansas City Chiefs guard Brian Waters
- Was a three-time district champ in the discus and finished 2nd in the state finals as a senior. Also started at forward on the basketball team
- Was the keynote speaker at Eagles Youth Partnership's 2007 Top Achiever's award ceremony, which honors local high school football players who have excelled in the classroom
- Is an avid bowler and named his bowling ball "Reagor-4-life"
- His first job was as a car detailer
- While in college, was named the 1999 recipient of the prestigious Bank of America Community Champion-of-the-Year award and was a member of the AFCA "Good Works" team
- Graduated in less than 4 years with a degree in exercise and sports management
- Full name: Willie Montae Reagor
COLLEGE HIGHLIGHTS:
A 4-year starter at Texas Tech, finished his career as the school's all-time leader in sacks (24.5) and TFLs (47). Earned consensus All-America and All-Big 12 first-team honors as a senior, after recording 96 tackles, 7 sacks and 19TFLs. Was a finalist for Football News' National defensive POY award and the Lombardi Award, which is given annually to the nation's top lineman. Garnered second-team All-America and first-team All-Big 12 honors as a junior, and was the recipient of the team's Pete Cawthom Memorial MVP award. Finished as the runner-up for the Southwest Conference Newcomer-of-the-Year award as a true freshman.
INJURY HISTORY:
Underwent surgery on his left knee on 8/18/08 to clean out inflammation suffered during training camp. Was sidelined for the final 11 regular season games and 4 playoff games after suffering numerous head injuries in a severe automobile accident in 2006. Was placed on the Non-Football Injury/Illness list on 11/29/06 after being held inactive for games 6-11. Was inactive at Mia. (11/2/03), at Jax. (11/9/03), and vs. NYJ (11/16/03) with a chest injury. Was inactive vs. KC (9/24/00) with an ankle injury suffered at Oak. (9/17/00).
