Michael Gasperson spent the majority of the past three seasons on the Eagles practice squad as a wide receiver, and was promoted to the active roster for one game in 2007. Gasperson will compete for a spot on the team in 2008.
2007 HIGHLIGHTS:
- Played in his first NFL game at NO (12/23) after being promoted from the active roster on 12/19
2006 HIGHLIGHTS:
- Posted 17 recepts. for 205 yds. for Cologne in NFL Europe
BIRDSEED:
- A self-proclaimed late bloomer, received no football scholarships coming out of high school due, in large part, to a run-oriented offense. He had just 17 catches as a senior and his only offer to play at the division I-A level was to walk-on at Arizona
PERSONAL:
- He and his wife, Mandy, live in both Deptford, NJ, and San Diego, CA, with their newborn son, Hudson Quinn. Mandy was a San Diego Chargers cheerleader when she was a student at the University of San Diego, where the two met
- His father, Gary, is a real estate investor and his mother, Jane, is a pre-school teacher. His brother, Joey, played two years of soccer at the University of Arizona and is now a personal trainer in Monterey, CA. His grandparents, Joseph and Angelina Anastasi, own Mike's Seafood on Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey. Joseph played tailback at Santa Clara
- His hometown of Monterey, CA, is a small fishing town of 35,000 people
- Was a four-sport letterman in high school and earned the school's Outstanding Senior Athlete award
- In addition to playing baseball, basketball and soccer as a kid, was also a competitve swimmer
- Worked at his grandparents' candy store, "Casa Karmel Korn," growing up. Also worked as a bus boy at his grandfather's restaurant, "Mike's Seafood"
- Enjoys hunting, claiming that it's a huge adrenaline rush. Has gone deer, duck and goose hunting in the past, and recently went on a bear hunting trip with Eagles safety Sean Considine
- Is a self-proclaimed "shoe fanatic" and owns dozens of shoes. His favorite are a pair of "Air Jordan IVs." Once purchased a $450 pair of Nike "Uncle Dunks," which were black, white and pink in color. "I've loved shoes ever since I was a kid. I used to walk around just looking at peoples' feet."
- Enjoys wakeboarding at his family's lake house at Lake Don Pedro in La Grange, CA
- Loved his job as a lifeguard in high school because he never once had to rescue anybody and was able to hang out at the pool all day at a private club
- Idolized Jerry Rice, Steve Young and Joe Montana as a kid
- Began playing organized football in 8th grade when his team went 0-11 on the season, despite beating everybody in a preseason tournament. "We scored one touchdown all year and it was a defensive TD in the last game."
- While in college, took some real estate classes and would someday like to get his broker's license

COLLEGE HIGHLIGHTS:
Notched 116 receptions for 1,894 yds. and 17 TDs in 3 seasons. Was named to the Sports Network's I-AA Mid-Major All-America Team in 2004, recording 54 receptions for 894 yds. and 7 TDs, and earned team MVP honors. Also received first-team All-Pioneer Football League honors in 2002, hauling in a team-high 57 receptions for 907 yds. and 10 TDs, which included a game vs. Valparaiso in which he set a USD and PFL record with 5 TDs.
