A free agent signing in 2006, the versatile and crafty Howard brings strength and experience to the defensive line, contributing snaps at both defensive end and defensive tackle. Howard has recorded 50.5 sacks over the last eight seasons, the first six of those with the New Orleans Saints. A second round draft choice of the Saints in 2000, Howard was a unanimous all-rookie team selection with 11 sacks.
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
- Finished 8th on the Saints all-time sack list with 44.5 sacks
- No defender in Saints history posted more sacks in his first 3 seasons than his 25 from 2000-02
- A unanimous All-Rookie team selection in 2000, led all NFL rookies in sacks (11), breaking Renaldo Turnbull's club record for sacks by a rookie (9)
