2008 Eagles Carnival & Auction a shining success!
Eagles fans enjoyed a day with their Eagles team on a brilliant sunshine for the 14th Annual Eagles Carnival & Auction, held at Lincoln Financial Field on August 17th, 2008.
More than $1,000,000 was raised for the programs of Eagles Youth Partnership!

Eagles Youth Partnership (EYP), the team's non-profit charitable wing, was founded in 1995 by owners Jeffrey and Christina Lurie, the latter of whom also serves as president of EYP. Reaching 50,000 underserved children each year, EYP provides mobile services via the Eagles Eye Mobile and Book Mobile, including free eye exams, free prescription eyeglasses; and free books to children in schools, shelters, recreation centers, parks and more.

The number is in! Not even the steady rain dampened the goal of the 13th annual Eagles Carnival and Auction, held Sunday, Aug. 19. The annual event that supports the operating budget of Eagles Youth Partnership exceeded its goal and raised $1,040,783 - up more than $100,000 from last year.
"Everyone brought their 'A' game -- the Eagles, volunteers, corporate partners and our amazing fans. We are so grateful to all." said Sarah Martinez-Helfman, executive director of EYP. "There was no dampening of spirit, despite the driving rain. We surpassed our goal, helping to keep our Eagles Eye Mobile, Eagles Book Mobile, Playground Build and other programs running strong all year."

Rain and cloudy skies didn't keep Eagles fans from invading Lincoln Financial Field on Aug. 27 for the 12th Annual Eagles Carnival and Auction, which raised close to $1 million for Eagles Youth Partnership (EYP), the Eagles' non-profit charitable wing.
It was a chance for men, women and kids of all ages to get up close and personal with each and every Eagles player, coach and cheerleader. Every dollar spent at the Eagles Carnival and Auction went to Eagles Youth Partnership and its charitable programs; proceeds will help approximately 50,000 kids to see and to read this year through the Book Mobile and Eye Mobile programs.
"The football team has a season, but we don't stop. Eagles Youth Partnership goes all year 'round," said Eagles Youth Partnership's executive director Sarah Martinez-Helfman. "The rain has been an obstacle, but it does not compare to the obstacles that kids in our city face everyday, so we're here to raise a little money and make the lives of these kids better."
Eagles Youth Partnership provides unique and innovative mobile services to communities. The Eagles Eye Mobile and the Eagles Book Mobile visit children in shelters, parks, schools, libraries, and recreation centers. These mobile services provide free eye exams, prescription eye glasses, storybook readings and new books. In June, Eagles Youth Partnership held its annual day of service, during which the entire Eagles organization completed its 10th playground build at West Philadelphia's Heston School.
A simple $30 will provide a pair of glasses for a child. Every $10 will provide new books for four children.
New for the 12th Annual Eagles Carnival & Auction were the Face Time With ... sessions, moderated by former Eagle Cecil Martin, which gave fans up-close access to players David Akers, Shawn Andrews and Sheldon Brown. Also for the first time was Eagles FlyWheels!, an exclusive car show featuring your favorite players personal tricked-out rides.
"Many people worked behind the scenes and up front to plan and orchestrate this event," said Martinez-Helfman. "Their efforts will translate into hope and resources for kids who face fourth and long odds. From all of those kids and from each of us at EYP, thank you."
