Right guard Danny Watkins
, who has not been active wince Week 6, will suit up for the Eagles. However, Watkins will not start. Veteran lineman Jake Scott
, who signed with the Eagles earlier in the week, will take his place. Rookie Dennis Kelly
will move from guard to right tackle, while veteran King Dunlap
will start at left tackle.
Wide receiver Jason Avant
is out after sustaining a back injury against the Cowboys. Avant was ruled out earlier in the week. Running back Chris Polk
(toe) and wide receiver Mardy Gilyard
(hamstring) were also ruled out during the week. Defensive end Phillip Hunt
will not see action for the second consecutive week.
The major injury news of the week centered around quarterback Michael Vick
, who will not play after sustaining a concussion against the Cowboys. Rookie Nick Foles
will make his first career start in Vick’s stead. Rounding out the Eagles’ inactives are: offensive lineman Nate Menkin
and defensive end Vinny Curry
.
For the Redskins, wide receiver Pierre Garcon (foot) will make his return. One of Washington’s big ticket free agents in the offseason, Garcon has not played since Week 5 against the Falcons. The Redskins will also be welcoming safety Brandon Meriweather into the fold. Meriweather was another big free agent signing for the Redskins, but Sunday will be his first action of the season. Both players will start for Washington.
Also inactive for the Redskins are: quarterback Rex Grossman, wide receiver Dezmon Briscoe, cornerback Richard Crawford, linebacker Mario Addison, guard Adam Gettis, offensive lineman Maurice Hurt and defensive end Doug Worthington.
