WR Ebert Signed To Practice Squad

Posted Sep 13, 2012

The Philadelphia Eagles today announced they have signed wide receiver Jeremy Ebert to the practice squad and released center Chase Beeler from the practice squad.

A seventh-round draft choice of the New England Patriots in 2012 out of Northwestern, Ebert, 6-0, 195, earned second-team All-Big Ten honors as a senior after posting career highs in receptions (76), yards (1060) and touchdowns (11). He became just the third player in school history to tally over 1,000 yards in a single season. Ebert played in 52 career games (35 starts) for the Wildcats, amassing 173 receptions for 2,400 yards and 21 touchdowns. The Hilliard, OH, native was an All-Midwest selection as a quarterback at Hilliard Darby High School.

The Eagles now have three wide receivers on the practice squad, as Ebert joins fellow 2012 draft picks Marvin McNutt (sixth round, Eagles) and B.J. Cunningham (sixth round, Dolphins). There are six wide receivers on the active roster, though Jeremy Maclin and Riley Cooper are both recovering from injury.
