Vick: I'm Not Playing This Week

Posted Oct 17, 2013

Quarterback Michael Vick met the media on Thursday after practice at the NovaCare Complex and repeated what he has said for the last couple of weeks: That his injured hamstring is still not 100 percent. Vick, in fact, ruled himself out for the game on Sunday against Dallas.

"I'm not playing this week," said Vick. Every day I'm just working and trying to get better. I just can't rush it."

Vick injured the hamstring in the second quarter of the October 6 game at the Giants and was replaced by Nick Foles. Foles helped the Eagles to a 36-21 win that day with two second-half touchdown passes, and then had three more and a running touchdown in last Sunday's 31-20 victory at Tampa Bay.

Foles has been running the practices as the first-team quarterback and is slated to start his second game of the 2013 season.

Meanwhile, Vick is practicing on a limited basis and is focused on returning to full health with his hamstring injury.

"I tried to come out and push it a little today," said Vick. "It went well, but I don't want to push it too much.

About his status on Sunday, Vick will be on the sidelines rooting for the offense and helping any way he can.

"It's going to be fun to watch," said Vick.
