The Boyking Delivers An Epic INT

Posted Dec 29, 2013

ARLINGTON, TX -- Cornerback Brandon Boykin's interception will go down in Eagles-Cowboys lore.

With 1:43 remaining in the fourth quarter, Boykin snared a pass intended for wide receiver Miles Austin to secure the 24-22 victory over Dallas and with it the NFC East division title.

"I was in man coverage and I knew they were going to try to do something quick, either get to the sideline or do a slant. I saw him break a slant. I tried to undercut it. He threw it behind him so it allowed me to slip in there. I was going to try and score until Connor (Barwin) told me to get down. I don't know what I was thinking, but it was good."

It wasn't Boykin's only big play of the game. In the third quarter, he was one-on-one against Pro Bowl wide receiver Dez Bryant down the seam. Boykin deflected the ball in the end zone to prevent a 25-yard touchdown. The Cowboys settled for a field goal, which ended up being the difference on the scoreboard.

The second-year cornerback capped off a breakout season in style. After being a part of a 4-12 team, Boykin was a key member of this year's division championship squad.

"I can't really fathom it right now. We're in the moment," Boykin said. "We're feeling good about it. We still have a lot of work to do. It's an accomplishment, but we still have stuff to do."
