Reports: No Ware, Murray For Dallas

Posted Oct 14, 2013

Multiple media outlets reported on Monday that the Dallas Cowboys will likely be without starting tailback DeMarco Murray and defensive end DeMarcus Ware for this Sunday's battle with the Eagles to determine first place in the NFC East.

Murray is eighth in the NFL with 428 rushing yards this season (4.7 yards per carry) and three touchdowns. Dallas head coach Jason Garrett told DallasCowboys.com that Murray suffered a sprained MCL.

Injuries have been a recurring theme in Murray’s career. The 6-foot, 215-pound Murray has started in each of the first six games this season, but prior to 2013 missed nine games in two years due to injury. If Murray is unable to play, rookie Joseph Randle would get the starting nod.

Ware's injury would be more significant because the future Hall of Famer has never missed a game in his nine-year NFL career. He left Sunday's win over Washington with a quad injury that he said was as painful as any injury he's had, per DallasCowboys.com. Ware was unable to finish a game due to an injury previously only once in his career back in 2009. He bounced back the following week notching two sacks in a reserve role.

Kyle Wilber, a second-year defensive end, would be in line to start if Ware is unable to play.
