Report: Louisville OLB Marcus Smith To Visit

Posted Apr 15, 2014

The Eagles have been keeping tabs on a number of pass-rushing prospects heading into May's NFL Draft, and it now appears as if another defensive end/outside linebacker will be visiting the NovaCare Complex.

According to Alex Marvez of FOX Sports, Louisville DE/OLB Marcus Smith is scheduled to meet with the Eagles.
At 6-foot-3, 251 pounds, Smith had a successful career with Louisville, recording 32 tackles for loss, 24 sacks and eight forced fumbles. Over his career as a Cardinal, Smith played both outside linebacker and defensive end. In 2013, he was named the American Athletic Conference's Defensive Player of the Year after recording 14.5 sacks (his 1.12 sacks-per-game average led the nation) and four forced fumbles.

The visit won't be the first time that Smith and Eagles are in front of each other. Chip Kelly attended Louisville's pro day on March 17, watching Smith, safety Calvin Pryor, and a number of other players.
