Report: Long Meeting For Kelly, Eagles

Posted Jan 5, 2013

The Eagles were reportedly scheduled for lunch with Chip Kelly in Arizona, but reports indicate the meeting with the Oregon head coach lasted until late Saturday night ...

Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported at 9:22 PM EST that the Cleveland Browns were still waiting to have their second meeting with Kelly because the coach's meeting with the Eagles had extended beyond the anticipated time.

We know that the Eagles are scheduled to meet with Denver Broncos offensive coordinator on Sunday and that interviews have been scheduled next week with Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians and Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Gus Bradley.

Kelly had previously been said to be "close" to becoming head coach of the Browns.

UPDATE: At 11:24 PM EST, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that Kelly and the Eagles were still meeting.

UPDATE: At 12:17 AM EST, Adam Caplan reported that the meeting between the Eagles and Kelly was over. USA Today's Mike Garofalo added that it's "not the end of communication between the Eagles and Kelly."
