According to Adam Caplan of The Sideline View, the Eagles will work out Oklahoma tackle Lane Johnson on Friday. Johnson was a high school quarterback who switched to tight end and defensive end in college before settling in as an offensive tackle.
An athletic lineman, Caplan called the 6-6, 303-pound lineman’s measurables 'eye-popping'. Johnson is one of the top players at his position in this year’s draft, according to USA Today’s Tony Pauline.
Caplan also reported that Mississippi State cornerback Darius Slay visited the Eagles last week. According to Caplan, Slay is slated to be drafted as early as the second round.
Though he was overshadowed at times by teammate Jonathan Banks, Slay posted a 4.36 40 yard dash time at the NFL Scouting Combine, which was tops among corners.
Last season he tallied 40 combined tackles, and five interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown. He also had 11 passes defended.
