According to a report by NFL Network's Albert Breer, the Eagles are hosting West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith Wednesday.
As a senior at West Virginia, Smith completed 369 of 518 passes for 4,205 yards, 42 touchdowns and six interceptions. By the end of the season, Smith is widely regarded as the top quarterback in the draft.
Smith was the leader in nearly every major Big 12 passing category. And although he prefers to think of himself as a pocket passer, Smith also ran 66 times for 151 yards and two touchdowns last season.
Last month several key members of the Eagles, including Chairman and CEO Jeffery Lurie, general manager Howie Roseman and head coach Chip Kelly, conducted a private workout with Smith in Morgantown, West Virginia.
