Report: Eagles, Falcons Eyeing Bailey

Posted Mar 9, 2014

Good morning, Eagles fans. Scouring through the Eagles-related free agency reports and here is one that was missed from Saturday.

According to Bleacher Report, sources say the Eagles and the Atlanta Falcons are "chasing" former Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey.

Bailey was released by the Broncos on Thursday after a 10-year stint with the team which means he can be signed prior to the official start of free agency on Tuesday. A future Hall of Fame selection, Bailey is a 12-time Pro Bowl and three-time first-team All-Pro selection. He was named to the NFL's All-Decade Team for the 2000s. A former first-round pick, Bailey spent five seasons with Washington before being dealt to Denver in a rare player-for-player trade which involved running back Clinton Portis.

All that being noted, Bailey will turn 36 years old in June and is coming off of a season in which he missed 11 games due to a foot injury.

If the Eagles were interested, it is unknown whether it would be for Bailey to line up at cornerback or safety. Bailey said in an interview with USA Today that he would consider a switch to safety.
