Offseason Program Countdown: 6 Days

Posted Apr 15, 2014

Believe it or not, the beginning of the Eagles 2014 season is rapidly approaching. Players will report back to the NovaCare Complex on April 21 for the start of the Eagles offseason program. Join us as we count down until the Eagles are back in town …

Brandon Boykin had a breakout season in 2013, his second as a pro, ably filling the slot corner role in Bill Davis' defense and recording six interceptions despite playing just over 50 percent of the total snaps. In the process, he emerged as the top playmaker on the Eagles defense and among the best in the entire NFL. Boykin's interceptions were timely, as well, as he sealed victories over the Washington Redskins (Week 11) and Dallas Cowboys (Week 17) by picking off Robert Griffin III and Kyle Orton, respectively, in the final minute of each game.

First Eagle To Wear 6: T Jim MacMurdo (1934-37)
Current Eagle To Wear 6: K Alex Henery (2011-present)

Alex Henery

The most accurate placekicker in NCAA FBS/Division I-A history during his four years at Nebraska (where he also punted), Alex Henery was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the fourth round of the 2011 NFL Draft to succeed David Akers. He has continued his steady, accurate ways as a pro, converting 86.0 percent of his kicks in his three-year career, including 82.1 percent in 2013. After struggling a bit early and missing field attempts in three straight game between Weeks 2 and 4, Henery righted himself and missed just two field goals in the final 12 games, with a long of 51 yards.
