No Surprise: Foles Earns NFC Honors

Posted Nov 6, 2013

For the second time this season, Nick Foles has been named NFC Offensive Player of the Week.

There wasn’t much doubt as to whether or not Foles would take home the honors this week, but on Tuesday the second-year quarterback was awarded by the NFL for his record-tying seven touchdown passes against the Oakland Raiders in the Eagles 49-20 win. Foles finished the afternoon 22-28 for 406 yards and seven touchdowns. He did not throw an interception and he finished the day with a perfect passer rating of 158.3.

Foles won the same award in Week 6 for his performance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, giving him the hardware in two of his last three starts. He becomes the third Eagles quarterback to win the award more than once in the same season (Donovan McNabb 2000, Michael Vick 2010).

Foles remains a candidate for the FedEx Air Player of the Week, which will be announced later this week. You can vote for Foles here.
