Miami Names Lazor Offensive Coordinator

Posted Jan 15, 2014

The Miami Dolphins announced that they have named quarterbacks coach Bill Lazor their new offensive coordinator. There is no immediate update as to who will replace Lazor on the Eagles' coaching staff.

"I am excited to be joining the Miami Dolphins,” said Lazor in a press release. "I look forward to working with Coach Philbin and his staff. I want to thank Jeffrey Lurie, Chip Kelly, and the entire Philadelphia Eagles organization for the great opportunity they gave me over this past year. I am eager to get to Miami to help build the 2014 Dolphins."

In his first year with the Eagles, Lazor was instrumental in the success of quarterback Nick Foles. The second-year quarterback led the league in passer rating as he threw 27 touchdowns against only two interceptions for the third-lowest interception percentage in NFL history.

Prior to joining the Eagles, Lazor was the offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach at the University of Virginia for three years.

Lazor arrived in Philadelphia with experience from three other NFL stops. He was the offensive quality control coach in Atlanta (2003), offensive assistant then quarterbacks coach with Washington (2004-07) and then the quarterbacks coach in Seattle (2008-09).
