McCoy Suffers Concussion

LANDOVER, Md. -- To add injury to insult in the Eagles' 31-6 loss to the Washington Redskins, Pro Bowl running back LeSean McCoy suffered a concussion in the fourth quarter of the NFC East showdown. On the first play after the two-minute warning, with the team trailing by 25 points, McCoy ran seven yards but was hit in the helmet on the tackle and immediately fell to the ground.

After the team surrounded McCoy, he was carted off the field but was sitting up and was conscious. Head coach Andy Reid confirmed shortly thereafter that McCoy had indeed suffered a concussion.

Asked if he regretted giving McCoy the ball in that situation, Reid said, "No."

"We're trying to win the game," Reid said.

Tight end Brent Celek also left the game after getting hit in the head, but Reid said that he "tested out okay."

McCoy had 15 carries for 45 yards on the day and did not have a rush that exceeded nine yards. He did make plays in the passing game though, especially on screens, as he finished with six catches for 67 yards. Bryce Brown, meanwhile, ran five times for 35 yards.
