“My toe, man, my toe was really bothering me during the game. It was kind of real sore a couple days before that,” McCoy said after practice, adding later that he underwent an MRI and was cleared to return.
McCoy said that he started slowly during practice on Monday, only to ramp up his involvement as practice went on.
“I felt like if it hurt too much, I would shut it down. I warmed up today and it felt good,” McCoy said. “In this league, you have to learn how to play through pain if you can. And if you can, you have to go out there and work hard.”
McCoy also explained why he would be willing to push himself now, when, after all, the preseason results don’t count.
“I want to really go out there and be mistake free,” he said. “From the penalties to missed assignments, playing fast and play Chip Kelly offensive football. Good execution, and have some good drives.”
“I’m feeling good. I had a chance to kind of run around, run some routes,” Maclin said. “Training Camp’s a grind. It’s like that each and every year … Missing two days all of Training Camp? I’m happy with how my body’s held up.”
