The Eagles were in competition with the Baltimore Ravens for Mathis' services. Mathis met with the Ravens and received an offer before heading back home to Arizona to make a final decision. Reportedly, the Eagles told Mathis they would beat any deal the Ravens offered. Mathis will meet with the media on Monday and we will broadcast the press conference on Eagles Live!

A journeyman before joining the Eagles, Mathis played in Carolina (where he was a third-round pick in 2005 out of Alabama), Miami and Cincinnati. In all, Mathis suited up in 74 career games (37 starts) including playoffs.
