Jeremy Maclin Placed On Injured Reserve

Posted Jul 30, 2013

The Eagles placed wide receiver Jeremy Maclin on the Injured Reserve list Tuesday afternoon, officially ending his 2013 season.

Maclin suffered a torn ACL in his right knee on Saturday during a non-contact drill. He told reporters Sunday that he was scheduled to undergo surgery on Tuesday and that the knee would be operated on by famed surgeon Dr. James Andrews.

To take Maclin's spot on the 90-man roster, the Eagles re-signed veteran wide receiver Nick Miller who was with the team in the spring. Originally a rookie free agent signing of the Raiders in 2009, Miller has played in 17 career games with the Raiders and the Rams. He was Oakland's primary punt returner in 2010.

General manager Howie Roseman told reporters on Sunday that the team will look to replace Maclin's production from within. Maclin was the team's first-round pick in 2009 and has collected a team-high 258 receptions since arriving in Philadelphia. In fact, no receiver in franchise history had more receptions in his first four years than Maclin. A year ago, Maclin led the team in catches (69), receiving yards (857) and touchdowns (7).
