Jeremiah Mocks Dennard To The Eagles

Posted Mar 2, 2014

Former Eagles scout and NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah has the Eagles selecting Michigan State cornerback Darqueze Dennard with the 22nd overall pick in his latest mock draft. Here's his reason for going with Dennard.

"I think when you look at the secondary they need to overhaul that group, in my opinion, and get an infusion of talent at the safety position and the corner position. There could be a corner there (at No. 22) like a Dennard.

"Then you look at two safeties I'm really high on, Calvin Pryor at Louisville. He's a day one starter you're going to plug in. He will smack you, but he can also float on the back end and cover. Then Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, my favorite name in this draft class, he can play too as a free safety. He's a guy who gets his hands on a lot of balls. Adding some playmakers in that secondary, I think it going to be a priority for the Eagles."

Jeremiah has both Pryor and Clinton-Dix off the board by the time the Eagles select at No. 22 in his mock draft.

In the full interview above, Jeremiah also details what happens to a team's draft board following the NFL Combine, how general manager Howie Roseman's approach has changed in the past few drafts and what can Eagles fans expect from Chip Kelly's offense in his second year.
