The NFL season officially ends on Sunday with the Super Bowl, but wide receiver
"I'm excited. Hopefully, he can come to the NFL and change it up and make something dynamic, turn it into something good," Jackson said on NFL.com Live at the Super Bowl in New Orleans.
Jackson already has insight into Kelly's offensive philosophy thanks to his cousin, Oregon running back De'Anthony Thomas. As a sophomore, Thomas was an explosive all-purpose weapon gaining 701 yards on the ground and another 445 yards receiving. He scored 18 total touchdowns (11 rushing, 5 receiving, 1 punt return and one kickoff return).
Jackson's versatility as a receiver, runner and returner (32 career touchdowns) seems to make him an ideal big-play threat for Kelly to utilize. Jackson said that Kelly told him he admired his play at California when Kelly was the offensive coordinator at Oregon. Now, Kelly will get to devise plays for Jackson in the Eagles offense.
"He's going to have defensive coordinators going crazy," Jackson said of Kelly.
The buzz surrounding Kelly has been a topic during Super Bowl week as the NFC Champion San Francisco 49ers have successfully integrated facets of the offense Kelly used at Oregon into their scheme.
"I would anticipate Chip making all of the adjustments he's going to need to make, though," 49ers offensive coordinator Greg Roman told the Philadelphia Daily News. "He's a smart guy. And I would anticipate him recognizing what he needs to do to be successful and adjust accordingly."
