Increased Work For Vick

Posted Oct 23, 2013

Following Wednesday's practice, quarterback Michael Vick said that there was no change in his status for Sunday's game against the Giants. On Tuesday, Vick said that he was "optimistic" that he would return to action after missing two games with a hamstring injury as long as there were no setbacks.

"I got more reps today than I did yesterday," Vick said.

Head coach Chip Kelly said earlier on Wednesday that Vick took most of the first-team reps in practice. Kelly noted it was the first time Vick took first-team reps with the offense since suffering the injury in the second quarter of the Week 5 win over the Giants. Kelly cautioned that he did not think Vick tried to run at 100 percent.

Vick said that he pushed himself more on Wednesday than he did on Tuesday. Vick stated that he will do even more in Thursday's practice leading up to Friday.

"Friday's a big day," Vick said.

The Eagles will release the full injury report later this afternoon.

UPDATE: Vick was a full participant in Wednesday's practice.

Cornerback Bradley Fletcher (knee), quarterback Nick Foles (concussion) and linebacker Jake Knott (hamstring) did not participate in practice. Safety Patrick Chung (shoulder), punter Donnie Jones (left foot), tackle Jason Peters (shoulder, finger) and defensive end Cedric Thornton (knee) were limited. Running back Chris Polk (shoulder) was a full participant.
