Giants Are Preparing For Michael Vick

Posted Oct 23, 2013

Quarterback Michael Vick has not made any declarations that he's playing Sunday against the New York Giants, but that's not stopping the Giants from thinking as if he's going to be on the field.

"We expect that Michael Vick will play. That's how we'll prepare," said Giants head coach Tom Coughlin on a conference call to Philadelphia reporters Wednesday. "We do have to draw some conclusions and move ahead, so the starter at the beginning of the season until he was injured in our game was Michael Vick and Michael we're expecting will play."

Vick has missed the past two games with a hamstring injury that he suffered in the first meeting between these two teams on October 6. Vick was 6-of-14 for 105 yards passing with an additional 79 yards on the ground before leaving the game late in the second quarter. The Eagles led 16-7 at the time of Vick's exit and won 36-21 as Nick Foles threw two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter.

"You worked all week to prepare for Vick and you get that changeup and it kind of throws you for a loop for a little while," said Giants defensive end Justin Tuck of the first meeting on a conference call with Philadelphia reporters Wednesday. "We just didn't do a good job of adjusting to the obstacles that Foles presented."

Even though Vick has been sidelined, Tuck is expecting to get the best of the Pro Bowl quarterback.

"We expect him to be the Mike Vick of old," Tuck said. "I know he always enjoys playing us and vice versa."
