A native of Staten Island, N.Y., Ogbu was a four-year starter and team captain for the Nittany Lions.
The Eagles also signed two players to the roster - wide receiver Anthony “Tiger” Jones and cornerback Kee-ayre Griffin.
Jones was the Arena Football League's leading receiver in terms of yards when his season was ended by the Philadelphia Soul on July 6 to prevent injury and allow him to join the Eagles for Training Camp. The 5-11, 195-pound Jones had 2,010 receiving yards and was third in the league with 47 touchdowns. The 30-year-old Jones was in the Redskins' rookie camp in 2004.
Griffin was with the Eagles in their Rookie Camp earlier this year. He caught the attention of coaches with a few interceptions during the workouts, but was not signed to a contract until Sunday. The former Temple running back converted to cornerback in 2009 and started 12 games in 2011 finishing with 49 tackles and a team-best three interceptions. He also blocked two kicks.
