Eagles To Host TE Moore Thursday

Posted Dec 19, 2012

The Eagles will be hosting free agent tight end Evan Moore for a visit on Thursday. If he passes a physical, it is likely that he will be signed to the active roster.

Moore was released by the Seattle Seahawks on Wednesday and cleared waivers. The Eagles are looking at depth at the position after losing Clay Harbor for the season due to a lower back injury.

In his fifth year out of Stanford, the 6-6, 250-pound Moore has 63 catches for 810 yards and five touchdowns in 47 career games. He was signed in September by the Seahawks after they released Kellen Winslow. Moore played in all 14 games (one start), but only had one catch for 6 yards.

Originally signed as a rookie free agent by the Packers in 2008, Moore spent the year on Injured Reserve after suffering a knee injury in the preseason. He was signed by the Browns to their practice squad in 2009. After he was promoted to the active roster, he led the team with six catches for 80 yards in his NFL debut on December 6, 2009 against San Diego.

At Stanford, Moore was a wide receiver and also spent two years on the basketball squad.
