Eagles Invite Three Players For Tryout

Posted Jun 12, 2012

The Eagles begin their full-team mini-camp Tuesday and in addition to the 86 players on the active roster (remember cornerback Cliff Harris is unable to attend due to the Oregon semester not being completed) the team will also have three players participate on a tryout basis - linebacker Ryan Rau, defensive end Frank Trotter and wide receiver Raymond Webber.

The 6-1, 230-pound Rau was a participant in the Rookie Camp on a tryout basis. The former Portland State Viking had 90 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss and 4.0 sacks in 2011 as he earned All-Big Sky honorable mention accolades.

Trotter played alongside first-round pick Dontari Poe at Memphis and finished third in school history with 36.5 tackles for loss. He started 33 consecutive games to finish his college career and was named the team's defensive player of the year as a junior. Twice, Trotter earned All-Conference USA honorable mention honors. As a senior in 2011, Trotter led the defensive line with 61 tackles and the entire team with 13 tackles for loss and 5.0 sacks.

Webber was signed after the draft last year by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers out of Arkansas Pine-Bluff. The 6-3, 220-pound Webber suffered a season-ending hamstring injury in the preseason. Webber was released by the Bucs in early May. In his senior season of college, Webber thrived under a new coaching staff to catch 101 passes for 1,429 yards and 10 touchdowns.

The Eagles can carry up to 90 players on their roster going into Training Camp.
