Doug Pederson Says Jake Elliott Is In Concussion Protocol, Status Unknown For Sunday

Posted Nov 20, 2017

Kicker Jake Elliott is in the concussion protocol while the team awaits further evaluation. Elliott’s injury occurred on the opening kickoff when he prevented a possible touchdown by tackling Cowboys’ returner Ryan Switzer. Linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill filled in as the team’s kickoff specialist as Elliott headed to the locker room.

Head coach Doug Pederson stated during his press conference Monday that the team has yet to make any decisions and will have a few days until Elliott’s game status is determined.

Kicker Caleb Sturgis remains on Injured Reserve while in the midst of rehabbing a hip injury he suffered Week 1 against Washington. Sturgis is "close" to being able to play if needed. Pederson, however, did confirm that if Elliott is healthy for next Sunday he would stick with the rookie.

With Elliott out, the Eagles went 3-of-4 on two-point conversions. Wide receiver Alshon Jeffery leads the NFL in two-point conversion this season with three after adding another Sunday night.
