David Molk Announces His Retirement

Posted Mar 4, 2016

On Friday morning, Eagles center David Molk officially announced his retirement from the NFL.

Molk, 27, played three seasons in the NFL. He joined the Eagles prior to the 2014 season, a year in which he started four games. Over two seasons in Philadelphia, Molk played eight games. He was only able to play one game in 2015 before a biceps injury placed him on injured reserve, ending what would ultimately be his final season in the NFL.

Molk was originally a seventh-round draft pick of the San Diego Chargers in 2012 after a very strong career at the University of Michigan. A four-year starter with the Wolverines, Molk won the 2011 Rimington Award as the nation's best center.

Molk's retirement leaves Jason Kelce, Josh Andrews and Barrett Jones as the three centers on the Eagles' roster.
