DT Fletcher Cox A Full Participant; Will He Play Thursday Night?

Posted Oct 10, 2017

Fletcher Cox was listed as a full participant on the Eagles' injury report Tuesday, a positive sign as the Pro Bowl defensive tackle has missed the last two games with a calf injury.

"The trainers, the doctors are doing a great job of rehabbing everything," Cox said after practice. "It was actually pretty good to be back out there, moving around a little bit."

It should be noted that the Eagles' practices are much lighter this week with the quick turnaround from Sunday's win over Arizona to Thursday night's showdown in Carolina. The team travels on Wednesday. Cox does not know whether or not he's making the trip.

"I don't make those decisions. I'm not a doctor. I'm not the head coach. That's (Doug Pederson's) decision," Cox said. "It's one of those injuries where I've got to be smart."

Three Eagles did not practice on Tuesday: cornerback Ronald Darby (ankle), tackle Lane Johnson (concussion), and running back Wendell Smallwood (knee).

No Reunion With Kurt Coleman

Panthers head coach Ron Rivera told reporters that three players will likely be out due to injury - safeties Kurt Coleman (knee) and Demetrious Cox (ankle), and center Ryan Kalil (neck).

Coleman was a seventh-round pick of the Eagles in 2010 and played in 59 games over four seasons. Coleman and Kalil are both starters for Carolina.

Starting cornerback James Bradberry (calf) was added to the Panthers' injury report on Tuesday. He did not practice.

Practice Squad Roster Move

The Eagles welcomed back defensive end Alex McCalister to the practice squad on Tuesday. McCalister was a seventh-round pick of the team in 2016 out of Florida. He spent his rookie season on Injured Reserve. Wide receiver Rashard Davis was released to make room for McCalister.
