Two separate groups of Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders traveled north of the boarder to perform at Official NFL Super Bowl XLVII Parties in Canada. For the second year in a row, the National Football League hosted Official Super Bowl Parties in several cities throughout Canada. Former NFL players and current NFL Cheerleaders helped bring an authentic NFL viewing experience to thousands of excited fans throughout Canada, and for the second straight year, the Eagles Cheerleaders were asked to participate.
Eagles Cheerleaders Amanda Grace, Becky, Lauren and Marissa were in Montreal on Super Bowl Sunday for the event which was held at the prestigious Stade Uniprix. The highly touted event featured visits from NFL greats Marcus Allen and Jevon Kearse. A 2003 inductee into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Marcus Allen was the NFL’s MVP in 1985 and also took home MVP honors for his memorable Super Bowl XVIII performance while playing for the Los Angeles Raiders. Kearse, a former Eagle and Tennessee Titan, was selected to three Pro Bowl’s and recorded 74 sacks during his 11-year career.
The Cheerleaders also played a prominent role in the event, as they had the opportunity to perform on-stage in front of thousands of fans who were in attendance. Marissa said, “Performing in Montreal was surreal! They had a huge stage set up for us and introduced each of us in French. The fans literally rushed to the stage area to get as close to us as possible…our energy was radiating off the stage. We met many residents of Montreal that were proudly sporting their Eagles jerseys and hats at the event and they were so excited to meet us! It was wonderful to see the strong Eagles fan base that exists in Montreal and to be able to perform for them.”
Star Bar in Quebec City was the site of the Official Super Bowl XLVII Party that Eagles Cheerleaders Cat, Jackie, Katrina and Stephanie attended. An on-stage performance by the Cheerleaders highlighted the event that also featured interactive photo walls, exclusive NFL prizes and a fun and exciting game-viewing experience.
When asked about the experience Jackie said, “The overall experience was so exciting and I had the opportunity to learn a great deal about the culture as we spent the majority of the visit touring Quebec City. The fans that attended the event were very friendly and even helped us learn some French! They were extremely knowledgeable about American Football, which was very impressive, and were just as enthusiastic our fans in the US. It was great to share the Super Bowl viewing experience and bring them the entertainment we provide at Eagles home games!”
