CB Harris To Miss OTAs

Posted May 8, 2012

During a session with the media following his involvement in a practice for the Philadelphia Eagles City High School All-Star Classic, head coach Andy Reid previewed this weekend's rookie minicamps, which he said will be a great "learning experience" for the rookies because, unlike past years, they'll be able to get all the reps. Reid also revealed that undrafted rookie cornerback Cliff Harris will not be able to participate in the team's Organized Team Activities that occur over the next two months.

Harris, 5-11, 180, will be present at this weekend's minicamps, but because of the quarters system at Oregon, he will be unable to attend the three OTAs scheduled for later this offseason (May 22-24, May 30-June 1, June 4-7). Harris is the only player among this year's rookies who will definitely not be present at the OTAs, though Reid mentioned that the team "is checking" on the availability of Syracuse safety Phillip Thomas.

Howie Roseman, meanwhile, announced that the team had agreed to terms with second-round pick Mychal Kendricks, the first of the Eagles' nine draft picks to officially come to the nest. Roseman expects that most of this year's draft picks will be in the fold rather quickly thanks to the new Collective Bargaining Agreement's slotting system.

"I don't think it's going to be a long process with most of the players," Roseman said. "I think that the players want to get it done. They know that there's not any incentive to waiting in terms of getting a different deal. I think it will be a fairly harmless process here so that when they come in and get ready for minicamps, they're signing contracts."
