Former NFL head coach and current FOX analyst Jimmy Johnson reported that his former quarterbacks coach at the University of Miami Marc Trestman was named the head coach of the Chicago Bears.
However, multiple reporters have chimed in stating that Johnson's report isn't true.
Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times explained that Bears general manager Phil Emery still has interviews scheduled with Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell among others.
Trestman has been the head coach of the Montreal Alouettes since 2008 and has won two CFL championships during his tenure. However, Trestman has plenty of NFL experience working as a running backs coach, quarterbacks coach and an offensive coordinator. Trestman also worked with college quarterbacks prior to the NFL Draft and two of his pupils include Bears quarterbacks Jay Cutler and Jason Campbell.
