Add Another TD For The Defense!

Posted Oct 5, 2014

The Eagles continue to put points on the board in all three phases.

After the Eagles scored touchdowns on special teams and offense in the first half, the defense registered a touchdown in the third quarter. Linebacker Trent Cole sacked Rams quarterback Austin Davis to force a fumble that was recovered in the end zone by defensive end Cedric Thornton. The score extended the Eagles' lead to 27-7 with 12:17 left in the third quarter.

The Eagles have now scored a touchdown on both defense and special teams in back-to-back games. The touchdown was the Eagles' seventh non-offensive touchdown of the season. Thornton is the second defensive end to score a touchdown this season for the Eagles joining Fletcher Cox, who returned a fumble into the end zone in the season opener vs. Jacksonville. That fumble was also forced by Cole.

It should also be noted today is Cole's 32nd birthday.
