The Eagles on Wednesday night agreed to terms on a five-year contract with second-round pick Reggie Brown, leaving just one of the team's 11 draft picks unsigned as training camp approaches. Second-round pick Matt McCoy is without a deal for now.

Brown, the first of two second-round picks, shined during his college career at Georgia. The receiver impressed coaches in the spring camps and will likely push Greg Lewis and Billy McMullen for playing time.

First he must try to translate what he learned in mini-camps to the full-contact practices at Lehigh. Brown must get on the same page with quarterback Donovan McNabb and correctly read and then make adjustments against the variety of NFL coverages he'll see.

Brown is capable of playing all three receiver positions; however, he focused mainly on the "X" (outside) position during the post-draft camp.

The 6-1, 197-pound Brown won first-team All-SEC honors in 2004, leading the Bulldogs with 53 catches for 860 yards and six touchdowns. His 16.2 yards per catch average was especially attractive to the Eagles coaching staff, as was his ability to play all three receiver spots.

A two-year starter, the 24-year-old Brown finished his career with 144 receptions, 12 TDs and 2,008 yards, becoming only the fifth player in school history to surpass the 2,000-yard plateau.

He attended Carrollton (GA) High School, earning All-America honors in both his senior and junior years.
