Report: Eagles, Weaver Agree On 3-Year Deal

March 5, 2010 | Last Updated: 3/5/10 9:51 AM ET | Comments (5)

Jason La Canfora of NFL Network reports that the Eagles have agreed to terms on an extension with Pro Bowl fullback Leonard Weaver.

"Eagles agree to 3 year, $10-plus mil deal with FB Leonard Weaver, highest ever for a FB. More than half deal is guaranteed," tweeted La Canfora.

Scout.com's Adam Caplan followed up with more information, tweeting "Eagles and Leonard Weaver reached 3-year, $11 million deal, $6.5 million guaranteed source said. Beats Greg Jones' deal 2 years ago."

Weaver, a restricted free agent, was tendered at the second-round level last night.

Check back with PhiladelphiaEagles.com for more details as they come out.

Great Move!!! With 36 let go. They couldn't afford to lose Weaver too.

This is great news! But why is the team's Official Site relying on secondary sources to relay news of a contract that was signed within it's own building? Shouldn't the team confirm this?
