Running back Brian Westbrook has been cleared to practice and will be a full participant in practice for the rest of the week, said head coach Andy Reid. Reid said Westbrook has passed every test in order to resume physical activity following the concussion he suffered in the Monday night game against the Washington Redskins in week seven.

 

"He's good to go," Reid said.

 

Reid also said that Westbrook is in good physical shape following the knee and ankle injuries that plagued him in the preseason.

 

In the Raiders game and Redskins game, "the speed, burst, timing and vision looked like it was sharp," Reid said.

 

But with the emergence of LeSean McCoy and Leonard Weaver as threats out of the backfield, Westbrook won't be asked to carry the full load.

 

"We were rotating them before, we'll continue to rotate guys in," Reid said.

 

Reid praised Westbrook for his help in teaching and mentoring McCoy, a rookie.

 

"I mention both Brian and (running backs coach) Ted Williams have done a phenomenal job with (McCoy)," he said. "Veteran players usually want to keep their jobs, some of them can be very sensitive about (younger players coming in) ... Brian's got enough confidence in himself and he knows that LeSean is willing to learn and (is) coachable and (Westbrook) helps (McCoy) out."

 

In other injury news, Victor Abiamiri (knee sprain), Kevin Curtis (knee) and Chris Gocong (quad contusion and hamstring strain) will not participate in Wednesday's practice. Reid said Curtis is at least a week away.

 

Defensive end will be a limited participant in practice after suffering an AC sprain against the New York Giants.
