Wide receiver DeSean Jackson has been named the NFC's Special Teams Player of the Month for September.

Jackson returned a punt 85 yards for a touchdown in the season opener against the Carolina Panthers. He currently leads the entire NFL in punt return average (22.2 yards per return).

Jackson was also honored as the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week in Week 1.

This is the second straight year that an Eagle has been named the NFC's Special Teams Player for the month of September, as punter Sav Rocca received the honor in 2008.
