Rumor going around is that he is homesick , the big kid misses his mommy ...which totally defends my option of trading him to Cinci with his brother Stacey. He needs a baby sitter I guess. As for LJ ..inconsistancy... I'd like to see Celek get more action , forgive the "Cowboys" comparison .. but I see a bit of Witten in him ...good size to him too.

For starters, you need good linemen in order to get the ball out to ur wide receiver. So, NO TRADE! Second, LJ Smith when healthy is 2nd best NFC East TE. He needs to take care of himself not only on the field but off it. In conclusion, fewer injuries, more catchs and MORE WINS! -JDP-

I would trade Andrews for Boldin right now. Andrews is a head job.

LJ can be a good player when he concentrates, but I think he lacks the concentration to become as good of a player that he can be. Everytime he gets the ball, I have to hope and pray that he doesn't fumble. If he wants to be as successful as he was his first couple of years in the league, he is going to have to work harder on holding on the ball. If Celek has another good year, I don't see the Eagles holding onto LJ after this year.

i agree LJ is better than shockey, shockey just had a really good rookie a year and looked promising hid first 2 seasons but hasnt realy performed since. Shockey is a good blocker but LJ is superb and the huge difference is LJ can catch the ball with one hand in double coverage(if you dont beleive me go find his highlights) shockey cannot.

I have always liked LJ better than Shockey. Never saw an all pro TE drop so many easy passes, and the non-stop ****ing and whining reminds me of TO without the reliability. The thing LJ has over most TE's is his ability to make blocks at the corner of the attack. Kind of like my old college teammate Johnny Spagnola but with more flat out speed. You can say he has been limited by injuries but to say he is unreliable when on the field is beyond ludicrous. Thats almost as dumb as saying Andrews is not a top level guard in this league. I guess the Maddens of the world don't know much about football and linemen. I had to laugh when I read that his missing the first day or two of camp was the proverbial nail in the coffin. Especially when guard is perhaps our deepest position on the line with big MJG ready to back up either side or start. Andrews will be there and he will be ready. Have you read that Anquan Boldin says he has told his agent that he will not resign with the Cards? There are few players I would swap Lito or Brown for, but AB is a superior athlete worth thinking about.

The Shacc is the Shiznit! Nuthin but Eagle fans and it is pacced. Only thing if you want 2 watch another game you r SOL. Me personally I can just catch the other teams on NFL network or ESPN. The atmosphere at the Shacc is 2nd 2 none(unless you are @ the Linc of course)

Jay- That was the Lakers hoops rowdy crowd. NFL games are mellow because there is no team in LA. Well the Raider fans are pretty radical. No cops on Sundays.

To many police hang out @ Nationals. I went there for game 6 Lakers-Jazz series & half the Torrance PD was out there. It was a cool atmosphere until I went outside.

JAYRINGO@...I agree LJ needs 2 take better care of the ball. After that you lose me. Last yr he was 4th best in the division becuzz he was hurt. Prior to that he was 2nd only behind the guy who just got traded. Witten & Cooley had their best seasons last year. Besides the NFC East has the best TEs in the NFL. LJ is extremely athletic for a TE and he is well above average when it comes to bloccing. Maybe Wilson can beat him out but if he does that means we will have a top 5 TE. Hey by the was where do you watch the Eagles? Are do you have the Sunday Ticcet?
|
JAYRINGO@... 07/24/08 7:24 pm ET |
LJ Smith has a hard time hanging on to the football. He drops passes, and holds the football like a loaf of bread. He has been the fourth best tight end in the NFC East for the past few years, behind Whitten, Cooley, and Shockey. I guess he is the third best now that Shockey got traded. Jason- Los Angeles

please explain how LJ smith is not reliable.
|
JAYRINGO@... 07/24/08 7:04 pm ET |
Andrew69- Yes I have seen Kris Wilson in college at Pitt where he was voted as the top college tight end. He was buried behind Tony Gonzales at KC, and didn't get the playing time. LJ Smith has been very unreliable, and this will be his last year in an Eagle uniform. Kris Wilson is a great under the radar signing. Jason- Los Angeles

andrew_short69@... 07/24/08 6:45 pm ET |
andrews is a great guard, and someone who thinks otherwise knows nothing about football. The man is very athletic for his size and could easily be a great tackle and is definetly quick enough, hes just an imovable object with some suprising speed, and is great for the run so he plays inside, if you watch the eagles when they run alot of the time its inside, thats probably why he plays theres because thats were they need him most, for the run blocking and because of his speed he can easily save mcnabbs arse from a sack without being on the outside. Without andrews we are screwed. JAYRINGO kris wilson will not beat out LJ smith, have you ever seen him play, he can block, has great hands and is reasonably quick and is one of the better targets mcnabb has. If someone were to ever beat him out aswell it would be celek i think he will number 2 tightend this year, he looks pretty good. kris wilson needs a few good seasons before you can make a statement like that.

stevetowsey - are you serious? Andrews is not only one of the upper echelon guards - he is one of the best lineman in the entire league. Period. What are you basing your comment on? you ever watch him play - every down he is dominating...westbrook runs behind him all day long, and pressure never gets to McNabb from that side of the center. Any team in the league would take him - and he may even be able to kick out to Tackle when Runyan retires - he is the best lineman we have ever drafted. What do you mean by inconsistent? How many sacks did he allow? Did Westbrook not have his best running season of his career last year?
|
JAYRINGO@... 07/24/08 6:20 pm ET |
nuuudlz- The last post you told baby backribs to settledown. This post you say to slow it down. Are you some kind of climate controller? Good call on how the Eagles pay their lineman. DJack is going to tear the league up this year. Matt keep up the solid posts and watch for Kris Wilson to beat out LJ Smith. Jason-Los Angeles
|
stevetowsey@... 07/24/08 6:14 pm ET |
hey, andrews is a great lineman, but he's not a upper echelon guard. he is very inconsistent i think and until he can put together a steady season he's not worth what he might ask.

If it were for contract purposes the agent and the player would make that public information, Im sure. What leverage is gained if they dont stir the pot at all? Saying that its a personal issue is just fine..if thats the truth. What buisness of ours is it if say his mother were lieing on her death bed?
|
ogbeachbum471 07/24/08 5:48 pm ET |
marcum.. i may have overreacted.. but agents lie all the time.. they are the scum of the earth.. and are dirty businessmen if you can even call them that.. i don't like when agents have to talk for their clients.. the kid should be a man and say why he is not at camp...
|
Jmarcum0@... 07/24/08 5:45 pm ET |
Relax, if his agent is saying it isnt contract related it isnt contracted related. Perhaps someone in his family is sick ect. There has been NO subtanciated evidence its over his contract. In fact if you read the article above, even his agent denies that. Now, tell me why would an agent deny that is why his client isnt in camp?
|
ogbeachbum471 07/24/08 5:31 pm ET |
this situation could not get much worse.. the line is my BIGGEST worry this year.. and honestly.. he is our best OL hands down.. i pray this gets resolved sooner rather than later
|
Nuuuudlz 07/24/08 5:31 pm ET |
Lets just slow it down a bit. Dont call it contract issues until there are legit contract issues! The eagles pay their linemen better than they do any other position outside of QB, so I have my doubts.
