The Eagles have agreed to terms with safety Quintin Demps on a four-year deal. Demps is the first of the Eagles' 10 draft picks to agree to terms on a deal.

S Quintin Demps
A fourth-round choice of the Eagles, Demps was one of the top playmaking defensive backs in college football during his career at Texas El-Paso. His 17 career interceptions were the most among all players in the 2008 draft class and rank second in both Conference USA and school history. Demps became the first player in school and conference history to have two 100-yard interception returns in both a season and a career. He also holds the school record with 404 interception return yards, becoming only the seventh player in NCAA history to top the 400-yard mark in that category. In 2007, Demps earned third-team All-America and All-Conference USA honors as he set school and league records by posting 220 return yards on five interceptions, including two touchdowns.

A native of San Antonio, Tx., Demps idolized Deion Sanders as a child and actually had a chance to meet him at the NFL Combine prior to running his 40-yard dash.

I think this guy might be our answer to Dawks eventual replacement. Looking forward to seeing some game play this preseason.

And talk is cheap... but signin this early ain't. This means he's comin to play. He's not worried bout money. He's gonna try to let his play get the money later.

Laughter... I think Demps will be in there 1st game on ST's. Either on P and K coverage or as KO returner. As far as S? We'll see him 1st in a blowout either way. (Hope it's in EAGLES favor) I'd think a blowout comes before he's ready. I'd say he could start in a pinch by 10th or 12th game. With a smaller PB like we had to do for most of last year. Just a guess.

Is it a Poor Man's Ed Reed, or is more like another Brian Dawkins in the making? I prefer another B-Dawk!!!!! Talk is cheap. But if He can play, Wear-em-out!!!!

Can you say a poor man's Ed Reed! Hopefully more! With that confidence, cockiness and bravado he should have been a hurricane. Talk is cheap, though! The knock on this guy is he would rather let someone else make the tackle than do it himself! Alright Demps time to silence all the critics!
