Entering this weekend's draft, speculation about the future of cornerback Lito Sheppard ran wild to the point that it almost overshadowed the topic of which players in the pool would be wearing midnight green next fall.
But with draft weekend come and gone, the two-time Pro Bowl selection is still on the roster and head coach Andy Reid said that there is no guarantee that will change any time soon.
In fact, Reid said after the conclusion of the draft that the Eagles had not received any significant offers for Sheppard.

"I don't know that. Right now, Lito's a Philadelphia Eagle," Reid said. "People have been calling about him, but I don't know what will happen here."
Sheppard struggled through an injury-plagued 2007 season and played in only 11 games. He has played only one full season in his six-year career, and when the Eagles signed Pro Bowl selection Asante Samuel at the beginning of free agency, speculation began that Sheppard was on his way out of Philadelphia.
But the Eagles understand that Sheppard at his best is still a valuable asset and are loathe to give him away without an truly appetizing offer. Eagles president Joe Banner said before the draft that there were a number of offers on the table, but with two rounds in the books, Sheppard is still an Eagle.
"We'll see how it goes," Reid said. "There's still some people interested, but Lito's a good football player. I'm not just going to give him away. That's not what I'm doing here."
