For 10-year-old Anthony Giovanni of Warrington, Pa., one of his dreams became reality in the form of spending a day with Eagles quarterback A.J. Feeley. 

Giovanni is the grand prize winner of the 2007 NFL Player of the Day promotion, a contest which allows one lucky NFL trading card collector to spend an entire afternoon hanging out with an NFL player.

"I was so excited," Giovanni said of his initial reaction to winning the contest. "I could not believe that I could win such a huge prize like this. I first thought that someone was playing a joke on me."

A die-hard Eagles fan, Anthony, along with his brother Vincent and several friends, hosted a private party for Feeley at the Giovanni's home on Feb. 16. During the party, Feeley signed autographs for everyone and spent nearly 40 minutes launching passes to the kids during a game of street football.

"I grew up playing football in the streets," Feeley said following the pickup game with Giovanni and his friends. "It was kind of my stepping stone to getting to where I am now, was playing here. We played on the concrete, just like that, and ran into cars, so it's something I'm very familiar with."

After the party, Feeley accompanied Giovanni and a few of his friends in a limousine ride to BJ's Sports Cards in Hatboro, Pa., where the veteran quarterback signed free autographs and posed for photos for a few hundred fans.

"The experience was more than I expected," Giovanni said. "Sitting next to A.J. in the limo and talking football was so cool."

The young NFL card collector was one of the more than 200,000 entrants who participated in the promotion, which was sponsored by 700 hobby shops across the country. As part of the grand prize, Giovanni received a $250 shopping spree to spend on NFL licensed products at his favorite hobby shop – BJ's Sports Cards.

Giovanni's lucky streak began when he discovered an NFL Player of the Day card in a pack of NFL trading cards that he purchased from BJ's Sports Cards. Each store then selected a grand prize winner for a spot in the national sweepstakes, and Giovanni came out on top.

"I am thrilled for Anthony, his brother Vincent and the entire Giovanni family," said Brian Schneck, owner of BJ's Sports Cards. "They are all regular customers at my shop and are big football card collectors and Eagles fans.  I'm glad to be a part of their special day."

The 2007 NFL Player of the Day promotion was coordinated by NFL PLAYERS, the marketing arm of the NFLPA, and NFL Properties, LLC, along with trading card licensees Donruss/Playoff, Topps and Upper Deck.  This marks the eighth consecutive year that the NFL Player of the Day program has given an NFL card collector the chance to spend the day with an NFL player. Past players have included: Maurice Jones-Drew, Chris Simms, Rudi Johnson, Donald Driver, Ed McCaffrey, Chad Pennington and Frank Wycheck.
