On whether last week and this week's passing stats were part of the reason that the rhythm and flow of the offense in the red zone was hard to come by: "We call those pass plays because we think we see something down the field we can try and take advantage of. I don't think tonight we really got to take advantage of it the way we wanted to. We have to find a way to incorporate the run as well as the pass, but it's hard. We're not playing very well and we're not playing very well in the red zone, and not putting points on the board. So when the defense is giving us short field opportunities, and we're not taking advantage of it, we're not going to put points on the board, and we're not going to look very good."
On whether the lack of capitalizing on plays is a confidence issue: "I think today when we went out we just didn't have that sense of urgency. We try to get the guys pumped up and things like that, but we didn't really have that sense of urgency from the beginning. We have to find a way to come out on fire, we're not a Philadelphia Eagles team that people are going to come out and lay down against so we can just run all over them. We have to come out and win ball games, and beat teams. We're not the team that's going to put up 35-40 points a game, but we have to be able to beat teams and we have to find a way to do that."
On why the team didn't have that sense of urgency: "To me, it just didn't seem as if we had that sense of urgency that we needed. I think we fought very hard towards the end of the game to try and get back in it and try to get that urgency that we needed, but we just didn't have it to start with."
On why the team hasn't been efficient in the red zone: "I'm not sure. We get down there pretty good and then the offense just stalls and we have to find a way to either run the ball, or run in the end zone, or complete some passes, and get us the opportunity so we can put the ball in the end zone."
On who needs to show more urgency on the field: "Everybody, from the leaders down to the last guy on the team, we have to bring that urgency on the field. As one of the leaders on the team, I can't make a guy be urgent that doesn't have it, but we have to bring that sense of urgency to the game, and we try. And I'm not saying that I'm not to blame, some of the leaders are to blame as well, and we have to find a way to get that sense of urgency back."
On whether he feels frustration when he sees other people not pulling their weight: "I think the guys try very hard. I'm not going to sit here and say that the guys didn't try hard. I just think as a unit, and I really can only speak for the offense because I only play offense, we didn't have it there. And I look at those guys' eyes and I know that they're out there fighting. We just didn't have that urgency that we've had in the past, and we have to find a way to get that back."
On what he see's in QB Donovan McNabb right now: "Donovan, he's out there competing. He's trying his best. Like I said, he's coming off a knee injury which kind of hampers him a little bit. But, he's out there competing and he's trying to sit in the pocket when we have time and we give him enough time he completes the ball. As an offense we have to find ways to protect him and to put him in good positions, good situations so we can have some success."
On whether the no huddle provided a spark that it has in the past: "Just thinking back to that first quarter we had the no huddle. The thing about the no huddle is that when you're getting first downs and moving the ball it works. But, when you're not really getting first downs, you're not moving the ball it's almost a waste of time. We moved the ball a little bit. We didn't move it as much as we wanted to with that no huddle and we started spinning our wheels a little bit there."
On whether G Shawn Andrews and TE L.J. Smith's injuries contributed to the offense's struggle: "I'm not going to sit here and say that their injuries really have contributed to our struggle. L.J.'s fighting through his injury. I think Shawn's fighting through his injury as well. I think he's a little bit further along than L.J. But, us, me, Donovan, our line, wide receivers, tight ends, full back. We all have to play better. And, we can't win football games putting up nine points."
On whether the season can be turned around: "We've been here before. Fortunately enough for us, we've been here before. We know what it takes to turn this season around. The thing about it is the veterans have to get the younger guys on board and make sure that they know that we can turn this around and they can't lose all hope because there's 14 games left and we have the opportunity to turn this thing around."
On how much McNabb's injury affects his passes completed in the redzone: "Like I said before, his injury is one of those things he's going to have to deal with. He's not playing a perfect game. Nobody's out here playing a perfect game. I think Donovan's going to continue to work through his injury. He's going to struggle a little bit, maybe. But, at the same time, he's going to complete a lot of his balls. And, we have a lot of confidence in him that he's going to come back and be the player that he once was. As a team, we have to continue to work with him. We have to continue to try to get open and so that he can hit us when we're open."
On whether younger guys have a tendency to lose hope: "If you've never been in a situation, like some of the younger guys haven't you will have the tendency to do that. And, older guys, we've been here. We've been in a situation where we've lost two games in a row especially at the beginning of the season. And, we know that we have to get a change. And that's fine with us. And we will get a change."
On what the offense has to do to get in sync: "We have to get in a rhythm, whether that's running or passing the ball. Some series we caught the ball down the field very well. Donovan was finding the guys. In that fourth quarter he was finding the guys and they were making big plays. We have to find a way to make that happen in the first, second, and third quarter."
