Game Vs. Redskins: QB Donovan McNabb

On the struggling offense: "Well we are doing some positive things, but it's just a mistake here or there, or not being able to capitalize when we get into the red zone. We just need to continue to make positive plays, especially in the red zone we need to capitalize with a touchdown."

On the lack of red zone completions: "Today they (Redskins defense) were dropping their guys into zone and we would have to throw over guys and that's just something we don't do. They did a great job today of forcing us to throw a lot of balls underneath. We tried to get some deeper balls earlier in the game and also later in the game and we weren't able to connect."

On the big difference this year in the red zone offense: "These first 2 weeks…we scored once against Green Bay but we missed opportunities to get it in the end zone and in this game we had too many opportunities where we should have gotten in the end zone. We are going to look at ourselves and watch the film and reevaluate what we're doing down there and come back next week."

On Andy Reid's comment of possibly being rusty: "I don't believe in rust and all of that. If I'm out there, I have to make plays. There were plays that were made but the end result of it is that we didn't win the game. So I have to go back and watch the film and try to change the outcome."

On the 3rd down of the last offensive series of the game: "I thought I put it in a position where I thought he would come out and catch it, and lead him into the end zone, but I threw it a tad bit too far."

On the stretches of consistency in the 2nd half: "There were stretches and we were able to move the ball consistently and move the chains, and get down in the red zone. No matter what type of rhythm you get in, if you drive down there, you have to be able to get the ball in the end zone. Field goals are just something as an offense we are just not excited about. We have been very successful in the red zone in previous years and these past two games we haven't been successful. So we have to go back, and find out what we have been doing wrong and correct those mistakes and come out and change them."

On the 3rd down conversion percentage for the game: "I thought we had an opportunity to be successful. We put ourselves in those positions of 3rd-and-long or possibly 4th-and-long, and with every play call that was made we had opportunities to make plays. They did a wonderful job of just keeping everything in front of them. We had opportunities, we just weren't able to capitalize on the blitz and I know that those are things I know we will change. We have to capitalize on deeper balls for Kevin and for Reggie we have to capitalize on that because now it puts a lot of pressure on the defense of what they want to do next."

On the health of his knee: "Right now the knee is doing alright. It's a growing process, and if there were opportunities for me to get out of the pocket then I'll do that. There were times where I had time to get it to the guys and let them operate down field, but it's all about winning, it's all about winning and whatever I have to do to win, that's what I'll do."

On the 0-2 start to the 2003 season and a comparison to now: "I think for the guys that were a part of that, there is a positive light in this situation, knowing that we've been through it not once, not twice, maybe three or four times but still you can't live in the past and you have to prepare for the future. And in this situation we only need to focus on Detroit and we have to learn from the mistakes that we made in this game and correct that. It's a short week and bounce back strong on Sunday. Detroit's not a bad team, we have to be able to prepare well during the week and capitalize on it."
