Game Vs. Redskins: Head Coach Andy Reid

On injuries sustained during the game: "(Brian) Dawkins had a stinger, William Thomas had low back spasms, and (Sean) Considine left with a knee contusion."

On the loss: "Congratulations go out to the Redskins. They did a nice job. When they had opportunities to score and put the ball in the end zone, they did that. We have to do a better job, and I have to do a better job of putting our guys in position, when we're down in the red zone, to score touchdowns and not field goals. If you score nothing but field goals in this league you're going to come up short. I thought the effort was good, but we just have to secure things once we get down in the red zone."

On the inconsistent play of the Eagle offense: "We're off just by a hair, and we're going to work like crazy to get that straightened out. Whether it's the plays we're drawing up for them or the execution, we all have to do a little bit better job. Once we do that, good things are going to happen."

On why Donovan McNabb has struggled early in the season: "It's not all Donovan, number one. It's me getting him in the right position to do some things, and then him continuing to knock the rust off, and the guys around him. It's everyone pulling together and doing their thing. Like I said, we're off by a hair and once we get that straightened out, we'll be okay."

On whether the problems offensively can be attributed to the receivers not getting big yardage following receptions: "There are other things too, but that's one of them. When you have opportunities down the field to take shots, you have to come down with the football. We have to make sure that we have the right plays called for those coverages that are designed that way. When guys have opportunities to make plays, we have to make them."

On whether McNabb appeared to be anxious in the Washington red zone: "They were playing real soft in the red zone. You have to be patient. He did a good job with what was there. He checked the ball down when he had to. (Washington) wasn't going to give up a big shot there. They did a pretty good job against our run game down in there. When they're that soft, we have to be able to run the ball a little bit better than we did. I thought we did a nice job (with the running game) in the field, but once you get down (in the red zone), we have to do a little better."

On the Eagles' fourth down play call at the end of the game: "We were trying to take a shot at the end zone, knowing that they were either going to maximum blitz or play soft. So we had a seam down the field, and we had a shallow crossing route. Donovan did what he was supposed to do there. He didn't have anything down the seam, so he made the underneath throw. We just have to make the grab and hold onto it and get ourselves a first down."

On whether the Eagle receivers are not getting good enough separation from defenders: "They had some opportunities there. We can do a better job all the way around. I'm not excluding anybody, starting with myself."

On his mood with the players following the game: "I never have gotten into that and I'm not going to get into it. I know we're off by a little bit, and we have to close that gap and get ourselves back on track."

On the play of the Eagles offensive line in the first two games of the season : "They have done some good things. Tonight, they pass protected well and we were able to run the ball pretty well. There were some good things tonight. I know it doesn't seem like it, but there were some good things and there are some things that we have to tighten up and get better. I'm going to make sure we do that."

On calling timeout before a Redskins' field goal attempt at the end of the half which led to Washington choosing to run another offensive play:  "I was just trying to make sure we had everybody on the field that we needed there."

On whether the Eagles had 11 players on the field prior to Redskins' field goal attempt at the end of the half: "I believe we had 10."

On whether areas of improvement needed this year mirror areas of improvement that were needed in past seasons: "We've had a little bit of everything over the past nine years. To answer your question, 'Have we been 0-2?' Yeah, we've been 0-2. 'Do we need to change it?,' yeah we need to change it. Every year is different, and we have to make sure we tighten this thing up a little bit and get it fixed."

On whether he can now lean on adjustments that he made in the past when the Eagles started the season 0-2: "Every year is different. We have things that we need to work on that are different from what we needed to work on before. The only thing we can do right now is fix the things that are wrong now."

On the team not scoring an offensive touchdown in its last six quarters: "We need to get in the end zone, number one. That's too many quarters obviously. We have to go back and do the things that I mentioned in the red zone – run the ball a little bit more effectively, dial in the right plays, and put certain players in the right positions to make catches, throws and everything else. We all have a little piece of this."

On whether the team needs a fire lit under it: "I thought the emotion was there tonight. I thought we were off by a hair all the way around – both sides of the football, special teams and coaching. We're off by an inch and we have to fix it and close that gap."
